Cheap Beer
Welcome to Cheap Beer, this is a site dedicated to the less expensive but certainly just as loved Cheap Beer brands. We will be talking about prices, as well as taste and hopefully when you leave this site you will have a handful of new beers to try out.
Cheap Beer Brands
So lets talk brands, when I think cheap beer two names immediately jump to my mind. Keystone or 'stones' as we used to call them in college, and of course Coors. But these two are just the tip of the iceberg there is a vast number of less expensive beer brands available out there many that you have probably never even heard of.
The List - Cheap Beer
- Busch - After drinking this myself the only reason I included it on the list is the price tag on this cheap beer. Pours a moderate golden with aroma of corn and other grains, but more body than "light" beers for sure. Just not a great taste, but not bad from a glass on a very warm day.
- Black Label - Yellow pour with a white head. Horrible corn, grain, and alcohol aroma. Flavor is also horrible, corn grain, alcohol, and very bland and watery. Nothing good here.
- Coors - Pours a clear, light yellow color. Medium white head, which diminishes quickly. Very little aroma (very light grain). Very light grain and alcohol flavor. Short duration. Thin/watery texture. Spare lacing. Fizzy carbonation.
- Genesee - Clear pale yellow with a frothy one-finger white head that quickly settled to a wispy layer on the beer’s surface. The aroma is cereal-like with an innuendo of yeast and corn husk. The taste is like mild watery liquid corn flakes with a very light aftertaste of corn husk. There is some barely perceptible bitterness in the note that follows.
- Huber - It’s fizzy and pale yellow and the head vanishes immediately. Aroma? Almost none, except for a very faint whiff of malt. Very watery and nearly tasteless - malt, corn, and a light metallic finish. Not a drain pour.
- Keystone - Bland-but redeemingly cheap beer. Taste in comparison with other domestic light beers makes it a great value. Many people I know who don’t like the taste of beer can tolerate the "never bitter" Keystone, so that says a lot in itself. This is my beer of choice when trying to play numerous games of 'Beer Pong'
- Miller Light- Definitely the king of Cheap Beer, with its clear yellow liquid, not to much head, honestly if I'm going to be drinking any of the beers on this list this is definitely the one I would personally choose.
- Natural Light - Lemony corn aroma. Clear effervescent yellow appearance, thin head. Cardboard flavor tinged with stale malt. Harsh mouth feel. For a moment I thought I tasted hops, but I think it was only wishful thinking. I feel sorry for all of the college kids who are forced so slug down this beer simply because its cheap.
Cheap Beer - Wrap Up
Now that we have gone through a small list and discussed some of the beers I'm going to give you a quick wrap up. If you simply want something cheap for party guest to drink or something to use for drinking games, my recommendation would be keystone, one of the cheapest of beers, its watery qualities enable you to drink enormous amounts of beer while still landing that ping pong ball in the appropriate cup. If your looking for something for casual drinking and either don't want to spend a fortune or don't have a fortune to spend either Coors or Miller Lite is usually a safe bet. Good Luck and Happy Drinking.
